Far behind the Mercedes at the start of the season makes the Red Bull team principal Christian Horner thinks they have paid dearly for the unpreparedness of the Renault engine in starting a new era .

Indeed, up to five series of Formula One ( F1 ) season two Mercedes drivers , Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have always dominated the race . Meanwhile , Red Bull with the Renault engine had to stagger first before gradually showing progress .

Through the pre-season is not perfect , as did the early start of the season in the Grand Prix ( GP ) of Australia . Machine -made French automaker struggled to put pressure especially Mercedes car chase .

Horner himself believe it is because the Renault works slow in developing his V6 turbo engine .

" It's really quite simple , we have to have regulation changes on the engine and Renault was not prepared with some of their competitors . We 've been doing repairs for improvement and they ( Renault ) work very hard at it . Slowly we can close the gap with Mercedes , "said Horner , Sky Sports F1 , Tuesday ( 05/20/2014 ) .

" As you can see , we have a very good chassis and I just think that they ( Renault ) started late in doing development . 's That simple, " complete the Red Bull team principal .
